Q: This is my first time getting a tattoo or a piercing, how do I get one?
We take walk-ins but its always best to schedule an appointment. We require a deposit and if you have to cancel, it's always best to cancel at least 48 hours before you are scheduled to get your tattoo done.
Q: Once I’ve decided I want a tattoo or piercing, how does the process work?
Once we have received your deposit we will work with you to determine what tattoo or piercing you want. Bring any sketches, pictures or artwork that will help us get you what you want.
Q: How do I prepare for my appointment?
We want you to be completely satisfied with your tattoo. For this reason we ask that you come in sober-minded. It is important that you fully understand how to take care of your tattoo, and we don't want you to make any drunk decisions that you may regret later. Other than that, there is no preperation necessary.
Q: How safe are tattoos?
PorVida Tattoo takes pride in our work. We always make sure that our area is clean and you feel comfortable. As long as you take care of your tattoo once you leave, there is no reason for your tattoo to become infected or unsafe.
Q: Does getting a tattoo hurt?
People have different level of pain threshhold. Some people say tattoos hurt, others are fine with the pain. Bottom line, if tattoos were unbearable, people wouldn't keep coming back.
Q: How do I pay for the tattoo?
Your deposit will go towards your final price. Once your tattoo is done, we accept all credit cards and of course cash.
Q: What about tipping?
Not necessary but appreciated.
Q: How should I care for my new tattoo?
We will discuss caring for your tattoo at your consultation and at the time of your appointment.
Q: What are some of the possible complications if I get a tattoo?
It is very rare for someone to have a complication associated with a tattoo, however, it is possible for someone to have a reaction to the inks. We are more than happy to discuss any possible complications in person during your consultation, or feel free to call us at 505-896-2329.
